So you dont know what a BrailleNote is? well don't worry because your just about to find out.
The brailleNote is a PDA which has been designed for blind people. It is a notetaker but it has many other features that you would simply not find on a notepad with a pen.
The BrailleNote comes in different configurations to suit your needs. As the name suggests the BrailleNote has a refreshable braille display which acts simular to a computer screen. Also with the braille display the BrailleNote has built-in speech. You can get the BrailleNote classic, or mPower (which has more features and is newer), in either a BT moddle (which is a 6 dot braille keyboard) or a QT Moddle (a normal qwerty keyboard).
You can also choose the size of your braille display from 32 cells or 18 cells. meaning you would either be able to fit 18 or 32 characters on 1 line.
The other moddle that is also available is the VoiceNote. The Voicenote has no braille display and only has speech output. The Voicenote can also come in BT or QT moddles.
The BrailleNote PK is a very small notetaker, which can fit in your pocket. It has a 6 dot braille keyboard and a 18 cell braille display.
The BrailleNote and VoiceNote family of product run on a system called Keysoft which has been developed by Humanware with accessibility in mind. Keysoft has been built around the Windows CE operating system.
The BrailleNote has many features which you would simply not find on a notepad.
You could use the brailleNote for word processing, send and receive emails, listen to music, stream radio stations from the internet, surf the web, plan and scheduel your day ahead using the planner, note down addresses and other contact info using the address list, listen to the radio using the built-in FM radio and much much more.
